Leverage your IP Network Infrastructure Investment

Faster IP networks, improved quality of service and mature standards... why not leverage your network investment when choosing your PA / Tannoy solution?

Many businesses have invested greatly in their IP network infrastructures. As a result, most are now performance highways, serving the most demanding application and communication technologies. However, most of these businesses still base their voice communications through a traditional PBX, and don't need or wish to further invest in latest VoIP solutions at this time.

For these customers, looking for a new IP PA / Tannoy system, Abletek is able to offer the very latest technology integration and product availability that allows them to realise value and benefit from both their IP network and telephony investments.

IP PA / Tannoy Installation & Application Options:

Businesses with non SIP (IP-PBX) based communications installations considering a new PA / Tannoy system have some choices available to them:

- A traditionally amplified and wired solution (see HERE for more details).
- A traditionally amplified and wired solution with IP Integration (see HERE for more details).

OR.... an IP solution with Direct IP or/and Integration through an existing Traditional PBX:

IP PA / Tannoy Application Examples:

Example 1: Traditional PBX or Key System Telephone integration over IP

Identifying the system components:

- System operation and paging announcements are made using standard Telephones.
- The PBX is central to this design, and acts as a gateway for telephone paging to the Paging Interface Unit.
- The Paging Interface Unit allows for single and multi-zone conditional input to the IP Interface Unit.
- The IP Interface Units are the 'brains' to the operation, providing routing, management and configuration of the PA / Tannoy system.
- Speakers can be self-amplified, or a local amplifier can be used to provide input to standard speakers.

How it works:

User dials the access code for the PA/Tannoy system. The PBX establishes a call from the Telephone to the Paging Interface Unit. The Paging Interface Unit may present options to the User for more details, such as paging zone details. The Paging Interface Unit then establishes an IP 'uni' or 'multicast' broadcast to all of the zone IP speakers configured and selected. The User now makes the paging / announcement call. End of paging / announcement, User Telephone hangs up. End of paging / announcement.

Notes:
1. LAN / WAN / VPN and Internet Based Solution.
2. Self powered or locally amplified speakers.

3. User and paging access through Telephone PBX analogue station port or FXO / LS trunk.
4. Multi-zone paging and relay/contact via IP and network

Example 2: Direct Microphone input solution over IP

Identifying the system components:

- System operation and paging announcements are made using standard Microphone/s.
- The IP Interface Units are the 'brains' to the operation, audio control, providing routing, management and configuration of the PA / Tannoy system.
- IP Integration and communication is performed using the IP Interfaces.
- Speakers can be self-amplified, or a local amplifier can be used to provide input to standard speakers.
- Single or multiple Microphone/s can be configured (local or network wide paging capabilities)

How it works:

User access to the system is via standard microphone/s. 'All calls' or zone section is activated by the buttons on the microphone. Conditional interface / zone switching is 'mapped' in software for target IP Interface/s. Paging call is carried by IP to those selected IP Interfaces / destination zone/s. Destination IP Interface/s provide line level audio output directly for self amplified speakers or local amplifier as required.

Notes:
1. LAN / WAN / VPN and Internet Based Solution.
2. Central and remote Microphone Interface capability (eg. branch site with mic could page main site).
3. Self powered or locally amplified speakers.
4. Multiple zones, 2-way audio (remote mics).
