Volume control units (VCU's) attenuate 100v line outputs to provide volume control of speakers.
For most installations, volume control is made using a combination of the amplifier controls plus the line transformer tappings that exist within the speakers. Installing separate VCU/s allows for additional volume control where required.
When installed, VCU's control speakers 'after' the point of installation (see diagram).
These units are desiged and rated to control a speaker load, rated in watts (do not overload).
Important Notes: 1. Please do not overload VCU's with speaker loads greater than the rated value of the VCU.
2. To ensure low running temperatures and unit longevity, for background music applications we recommend de-rating VCU's by 50%.
